Cape Cod Commission approves first large-scale ground-mount solar array

It’s a success. The first large-scale ground-mount solar array on Cape Cod was approved! Further, the 1.37 Megawatt, 5808 panel development was found to be a Project of Community Benefit. This designation, and the progressive plan to revegetate around and under the solar structures led to the Commission to grant a full waiver of the Open Space requirement usually enforced for traditional development. In their comment period, several Commissioners focused on the local benefits unique to this project. Others commended the applicant, My Generation Energy, and the owners, Airport Way Nominee Trust, for selecting solar panels made in America.

This decision by the Cape Cod Commission marks an important precedent for solar development on Cape Cod. My Generation Energy is proud to be a part of this giant step toward a more sustainable Cape Cod.
