Solar at Friends Academy Dartmouth – Friday May 9, 2014

Come join us for this exciting ribbon cutting event!

Friends Academy in Dartmouth will celebrate its new solar array with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday May 9, 2014 at 2:30 pm. The celebration is open to the public and will be held at the school at 1088 Tucker Road, Dartmouth MA. Come join the celebration with students, parents, supporters, teachers, staff, and administration as they mark this important step toward sustainability and energy independence.

The array was designed specifically for Friends Academy. The project incorporates many features for educational purposes and provides monitoring capabilities for various levels of classroom instruction. The energy produced by the project is anticipated to offset all of Friends Academy’s electrical usage. The 624 panel facility is located along the rear of the campus in a previously unused area. Its low-profile, custom-built design and vegetated area between the rows of the array gives the impression of “solar panels floating in a meadow.”

Friends Academy was founded in 1810 and has served Southeastern Massachusetts by providing a quality education to children since that time. My Generation Energy is pleased to be working with them to enhance that educational offering and improve their sustainability message with this exciting new commitment to solar energy.
