President Obama keeps the Lights On for the Solar Energy Tax Grant, Treasury Department’s Section 1603 Program

On December 17th, President Obama signed the Treasury Department’s Section 1603 Grant Program which extends Treasury cash grants for solar energy projects beginning construction before December 31, 2011. This allows solar energy developers to receive a cash grant in lieu of a tax credit equal to 30% of the basis of the solar energy equipment.
